Impact: 800 Children

This community needs clean water! In the mountain community of Santo Domingo, just outside Medellín, Colombia, an extraordinary art school has become a lifeline for over 800 vulnerable children — many at risk of, or recovering from, sexual violence. This school is more than a place to learn. It’s a sanctuary where children find safety, healing, and expression through art and music. It’s also where many receive their only meal of the day.

But today, that sanctuary is shut down.

The Colombian government recently closed the school due to unsafe, contaminated water.
The community relies on roadside tanks filled with water that isn’t safe to drink — and now, these children are left without:

  • A safe place to heal

  • A creative outlet to process trauma

  • A daily meal they rely on

This project will install a running water and filtration system at the school. Once installed, the school will reopen immediately, restore the daily food program and provide long-term clean water solution for this entire community. The school staff will be educated on how to maintain the water and filtration system so it lasts for many years!
