At OneVillage Partners, we partner with rural communities in Sierra Leone to address their most pressing needs—things like access to clean water, safe schools for children to learn and grow, and maternal health clinics for the care of mothers and babies. Our goal is to empower communities to take charge of their own futures and create lasting change from within.

The Yandohun community in Sierra Leone has decided to invest in themselves and their community by building a rice mill and a community store—two projects that will directly improve local agricultural businesses and strengthen food security for everyone. A rice milling machine is used to process rice, a faster, safer and cleaner alternative to the manual processing community members were doing before. The community store provides a dry space where farmers can store their harvest and will increase agricultural productivity for the hundreds of people living in their community.

The results speak for themselves:
90% of our projects are still operational and maintained by communities 5 years after completion.
Last year, 86% of community members contributed financially to their shared development projects.
82% of households now feel that they can bounce back from an economic shock—compared to 0% when first surveyed.

This rice mill and community store is a project that gives this community tools to thrive. Will you join us in supporting the work of individuals who are driving lasting change in their communities?
