@rap, @drip, & @liftup are partnering to help fight hunger this Christmas. RAP will match up to $10,000. 100% of the money raised will go to the national nonprofit ‘Move for Hunger’ to provide meals to those in need during the holiday season.
More than 47 million Americans face hunger every day including 1 in 5 children. Meanwhile, 38% of the food produced in the United States every year is wasted.5. Since 2009, we have delivered 54 million pounds of food to food banks across the United States and Canada. That’s the equivalent of more than 45 million meals.
Move for Hunger provides resources to organize food drives, coordinate food rescues, and advocate for policies that will address the root causes of hunger and food waste. Since 2009 they have delivered over 54 million pounds of food by asking people who are moving homes to donate their food to those in need. Move for Hunger also provides people with the opportunity to donate their food when they move to help eliminate food waste during the relocation process.
